Why foreign men are hot and local men are not

(in response to a very dumb article by The Sunday Times, pg 6 and 7)

NOTE: this is not meant to target any of the decent local guys. this is only meant for those stupid idiots mentioned in the article, and other guys who think like them.

Why do local men go for foreign brides?

According to 4 of the 7 men who spoke to The Sunday Times about their foreign marriages, this is because the foreign brides "would be more demure and accomodating".

What they want, they said, is a woman who will put the family and husband first, rather than demand cars, condominiums and credit cards.

"She wants the guy to take the lead. We earn the same salary, but she's happy when I take the initiative to pay the bill. When it comes to where to go or eat, she'll give her feedback, but she'll let me make the decision." said one Mr David Ho, who married a Malaysian this april. Another Mr See Chee Hong who married a Vietnamese farmer's daughter in 2004 agrees with him, "My wife takes care of the kids and all the housework."

Statistics show that 1 in 4 men aged 40 to 44 with less than a secondary school education was single last year as compared to 1 in 10 graduate men. This is in direct contrast with the statistics at the women's side: 1 in 4 female graduates are single while only 1 in 10 women with only had a secondary school education was single.

And as compared to men, 1596 local women married foreign men while a significant 6520 local men married foreign women, not including marriages overseas.

Well what does this show ladies and gentlemen?

1) Singaporean men want a wife who is accomodating, demure and listens to their every wish and decision. Oh yeah, and who does the housework, takes care of the kids and doesn't demand much.
2) Singaporean men prefer to date/marry a woman who has lower education standards than them.
3) Therefore, since they can't find accomodating and demure Singaporean women anymore, they go overseas to buy a bride back. Countries include MALAYSIA, VIETNAM and CHINA.

Let me first correct a very huge assumption that they made above:
We, as women, do not require them to provide our condo, car or credit cards.

It's quite obvious what conclusion these three statments arrive to about the type of local men we have.

And why are statistics of women marrying foreign men lesser than local men marrying foreign women?

1) Quote, "Educated singaporean women with stable careers are not looking to marry just for economic security or to have children."
2) Quote, "Men unable to find a local wife can use one of the many matchmaking agencies to find brides in the region who are seeking a better life... This option is not open to women." And let's take a look at the nationalities of these foreign brides -- wow, coincidentally they seem to come from countries which believe that men should rule all! And where do foreign grooms come from? Countries like Europe and USA. I wonder, I wonder. Unlike men, women can't buy the grooms back.
3) Women who marry foreign men tend to marry overseas, thus statistics are not registered.

And let us now compare the really vast difference in the views of foreign, ie europen/american/australian men. While local men want accomodating women who listen to their every whim, foreign men seem to value a more equal relationship.

"I wouldn't be interested in a demure woman," said a Mr Gyde.

It's pretty obvious why foreign men are hot and local men are not.
