Hello, there.
Welcome to my garden!
No you aren't allowed to step past the first gate. You'll have to remain outside, look at the ivy twirling up the gate, look at the butterflies hovering and flitting from flower to flower, but the gates run all the way up to the sky. You can't see inside! Maybe, occasionally, you see a peek or two if the sunlight shines from your direction through the few gaps of the gate, but never beyond that. Oh, everything seems so nice and bright outside doesn't it? Everything must be the same inside. Nothing much to see, go away.
Maybe a few, a really select few can just go in through the first gate. And there the scenary changes a little. The flowers are still there, but they don't seem to look as bright and cheery as outside... perhaps, the darker hues? The butterflies are flying with a weariness that drags them down. Oh no, what's happening? At least you still see the same things as outside don't you. But there's another difference: everything here looks a little softer, deeper. Beyond the 2D-like flowers outside.
But I don't think you can get in through the second gate, can you? Maybe once, twice, you see a glimpse inside. Maybe someone got to the edge once, but it turned out that the gate made a wrong judgement and opened a little too much. That someone didn't care to see inside.
Well cheer up, at least you're outside the first gate! Some people don't even get within a mile of it. And at that place where they are, they're faced with silence, the wind is still, the scenary's a blank, and there're frozen images of lightning, representations of tension. Of course, they can only sense that. What they see is still a smile, albeit a bit blank. And they're not closer because they judge. They can't see the flowers, because the flowers are never to their liking. They have a specific species of flower in which they only like that specific species, and they look upon with upturned noses at mine. This is why they're there.
Most people just walk past my garden without even bothering. The flowers beckon to them, but they don't care. They see brighter flowers somewhere, perhaps. The butterflies do try to fly around them to get them to see my first gate, but they're walking forward without even looking. So the butterflies fly back, dejected, and the flowers try to get mirrors to see what's wrong with them, and all of them try to tell themselves they don't care about these one-tracked minds. Sometimes they succeed, and they get a wall of indifference up. But sometimes they don't, and it remains with them, dejecting the butterflies' future attempts.
There's a fragile ecosystem inside my garden, and someone wrecks it all the time. It takes time to get it up again, only to get wrecked another time.
Welcome to my garden. Are you one of those with better flowers to walk towards, or are you one of those who only like a specific species of flower? If so, walk on. Don't fake interest in my garden, only to shatter the ecosystem when you get beyond the first gate.
