Okay. HERE NOW.
EVIDENCE THAT THE GUYS IN LORD OF THE FLIES ARE GAY (and i mean gay, in the sense that you're attracted to people of the same sex, not gay, in the happy sense)1) Pg 31, "His (jack) grey shorts were sticking to him with sweat. Ralph glanced at them
admiringly, and when Jack saw his glance he explained." First thing you ought to know, when an article of clothing is wet, it becomes translucent. Which means you can see, er, everything, or at least
something. Andddddd Ralph glances at them
admiringly. Need I say more?
As for the hatred that Ralph feels for Jack later, I TELL YOU THIS IS NATURAL. Love and hate are NOT polar opposites, but in fact are side by side, separated by a VERY VERY thin line. Plus, Jack didn't reciprocate Ralph's love. Ralph, being the injured lover, translates his love into hatred. Logical? Very.
2) Pg 33, "When they had done laughing, Simon
stroked Ralph's arm shyly; and they had to laugh again." aand pg 128, "Diffidently, Simon allowed his pace to slacken until he was walking side by side with Ralph and looking up at him through coarse black hair that fell now to his eyes...For a moment or two Simon was happy to be accepted and then he ceased to think about himself.
When he bashed into a tree..." Stroking's obvious enough, what more say SHYLY. And then he bashed into a tree when he was looking at Ralph. HEM HEM. And you notice that Simon's "always there" for Ralph, whether it be building shelters or going back through the darkness to find Piggy when Ralph said so. Ahem.
The lord of the flies section is just a confirmation of what we already know. Pg 177, "You like Ralph a lot, don't you?"
3) Actually, Jack secretly liked Ralph too, just that his ways of expressing it are a bit different, and less obvious. You realize that jack's evil ways are
all influenced by ralph. see, at the start of the book, when jack fails to kill the pig, Ralph went "You should stick a pig" (like he could) and then he asked the OBVIOUS, "Why didn't you --". Jack, hearing that, immediately went, "i was going to," "I was choosing a place." And then later on Ralph taunts him again, "I thought I might kill." "BUT YOU DIDN'T." "I thought I might." "BUT YOU HAVEN'T YET." LIKE WTH WHY IS HE SO STOOOOPID?! HA HE DESERVED IT WHEN HE WAS HUNTED BY JACK, ANOTHER INJURED LOVER.
Jack also keeps looking to Ralph for attention and recognition of his oh-so-courageous acts, like when they killed the pig, Jack was so excited and rushed up to the mountain top immediately to tell Ralph about it. Aaaand like when Jack failed to kill the pig the second time he rushed back to Ralph immediately, and ONLY ralph, to ask where the water is. Aaaand like during the first fire building...
'At the return Rlaph found himself alone on a limb with Jack...' HMMMM
'"Almost too heavy." Jack grinned back. "Not for the
two of us." You look at Jack's character, does he look like the type to share credit? Nooooo. BUT HE SHARES IT WITH RALPH!
And then later on when he thinks Ralph treats Piggy well, HE WAS SOOO JEALOUS! 'Jack cleared his throat and spoke in a queer, tight voice. "We musn't let anything happen to Piggy, must we?"'
Last piece of evidence, pg 131: 'Jack was edging along the ledge. "Couldn't let you do it on your own."' when Ralph went alone up the cliff rock. Like, awwwww.
4) Piggy likes Ralph, that part is obvious. He keeps sticking with him and stuff, and since he likes Ralph, he's jealous that Ralph likes Jack instead, so he tries to prejudice Ralph against Jack. Pg 116, "...I tell you what. He hates you too, Ralph --" and Ralph was like, "Me? Why me?", proving that before that he didn't even think that Jack hated him, and also that after that after believing that Jack hated him, he started hating him too. yes?
In conclusion, Jack liked Ralph, Ralph liked Jack, Simon still likes Ralph, Piggy likes Ralph (OMG SO MANY GUYS LIKE RALPH!) and in the end Ralph likes Piggy back. (:
