TV debates (TRIALS)
Yes, I went Mediacorp today, but no, it's not going to be broadcasted on TV as it's a TRIAL, and no, I wasn't speaking.
But nevertheless, it was quite entertaining to watch. (: The format was different (each speaker only had like 2 and a half minutes to speak! imagine that... how do you get ANYTHING done in 2 and a half minutes?) and there was even a REBUTTAL round. And it's like only the person on the floor can POI the person speaking, and there's a REBUTTAL bank of 90 seconds.
So undoubtedly, ACSI used up the time in their rebuttal bank so much faster than us. haha. Especially Sam Cheam, with Kristin asking him to repeat thrice. Which wasn't her fault, I didn't catch him too... and as David said, it's their fault too since they weren't sharp and direct. (: The judges were delighted with her and they said it was a "brilliant strategy".
And ACSI won the first three rounds. Surprisingly, because the scoring system was so warpped, we won them in the end since we won the rebuttal round and the last speaker. Heh.
Sam Cheam, UNsurprisingly, won best speaker, but Kristin won him by content. We admit he indeed has too much flair for his own good, and RG debaters like our head prefect love to swoon about his voice.
David saw the whole thing as very amusing, and he was doing all the punching boxing actions since the format of this debate was, according to the producers, like a boxing competition.
We were astonished to see that ACSI had sent in their sec 3 team. We were expecting the sec 2 team, and Ruiling was so sure she was going to get murdered by some *ahem* girls since she was most likely to debate with a certain guy whose name shadn't be revealed, who is very popular among a certain school girls, and whom our school debaters, um, don't quite like, to say mildly.
And after we found out that that certain person wasn't going to be there, THEY started panicking again, for Sam Cheam was speaking. -_-

And I recall last debate he was sympatising with us for having to go to RJ with the RI guys, and going about how ACJC was so fun and all the girls who went to RJ regretted immensely their decision. Okayy... I know it's sad to go RJ with the RI guys, but you don't have to keep heaping on that. haha.
Before the TV debate, he was giving us "tips" to, ahem, distract them, and make them nervous.
And Ruiling and Sheryl concluded that Kristin looked best when sick, and was rather sad that she wasn't as good-looking as on wednesday to seduce some AC guy.
Right.
Me, being the unobservant person I am, saw no difference in her appearance.
Ruiling and Sheryl, being the sadists they were, thought Kristin looked like a damsel in distress when sick, and thus was more pretty.
All in all, TV debates was rather entertaining for us viewers (I think if I were speaking my legs would have MELTED into jelly, presented in a bowl for you all to eat), albeit the major headache I got afterwards.
