Days are becoming really cramped lately... thought that the lower half of the year, minus the chinese drama concert, chinese drama competition and youth 14s would be much more free for me. Guess I was proved wrong... forgot to count in the fact that stupid ivp would take up so much time and money.
Plus, not to mention, extra tests and performance tasks. can't stand them...
At least I still can play my computer. It's such a nice companion... especially Maple Story! Let me introduce to you the benefits of maple story...
First of all, it is VERY useful when studying for a test. When studying boring things such as history, you certainly MUST play Maple Story or you will definitely fall asleep. Wenda and Geraldine both fell asleep a lot of times while studying history... just proves how boring it is, right? And why does playing Maple Story useful while studying for a test? Well, while waiting for your character to finish restorying his/her hp (characters restore hp by standing still), you can go revise for your test! Your character should finish restoring within a few minutes, giving you NO time to feel bored. Therefore, it is immensely useful!
Secondly, you are able to learn a few economic tricks! For example, if you can sell a glove for $5000 to the store, you can sell it much higher outside as shops always buy your stuff at half its actual price. Another example is you can go calculate the amount of money you can earn and lose(like bo liao hui min) when you buy arrows (if you are an archer) and when you shoot and kill monsters. You see, arrows need money, but when you kill an animal they sometimes leave money behind. Therefore, if every arrow costs 1 meso, and every animal you kill earns you 10 mesos, then you earn a profit of 9 mesos! You can also learn the great art of managing your money since you are constantly attracted to the many things available there for you to buy, eg, clothes and weapons! So useful right?
You can also make friends! Yes, I know that Friendster does that, but don't you find that Maple story does that more effectively? You see, when you travel around, you are bound to meet a lot of players. Therefore, while playing the game, you can go talk to them and travel with them, thus increasing your social network! Isn't that really useful? (:
And you are also faced with difficult problems which can be applied to real life! For every level you gain, you get 5 points in which you can use to increase your strength, hp, dexterity, luck, mp or intelligence. You have to make this difficult decision as to what to increase and weigh the pros and cons of increasing each one and not the others... this situation can be seen in real life when you focus your energies on your subjects! Which subjecets should you study more on is certainly a decision to make! Therefore, maple story is really beneficial and useful!
The only detriment it can possibly bring up is the fact that you get addicted to it...

Doodling away in class during boring lessons. I tell you what are the main lessons I doodle away at: English, Literature (both of these
coincidentally taught by the SAME teacher), science (it's chemistry now. can't believe our luck in getting mrs tay again when we got her last year already... she is DAMN boring, repeats all the time and all), maths (whoever wants to listen to how to solve equations?). Sometimes geography too, since we are learning boring climate now... History never makes me sleep due to the interesting lessons conducted by Mrs Mak since we rarely ever flip the textbook. All we do is worksheets in groupwork and act out LOTS of plays! (: After all, all you need to do in history is just flip open the history textbook and memorise stuff.
I like literature, I just don't like the stupid teacher.
Yay, can't wait for HCI invitationals where I can go meet the others! (: It's next saturday!
