Hypocrites
How would you like to know you study in a school of hypocrites? Maybe you don't want to face up to the horrible truth, but here it is. Right in front of your shocked eyes.
"
My school is hypocritic? You then hypocritic lah. My school is the finest school in singapore, how can be hypocritic?"
Poor you if you are thinking that. You are living in a world filled with fluffy white clouds and cotton candy, shielded from the world's evils. Everything in your would is soft and nice. Either that or you are living in a world of blindness, where you are unable to see anything. Sad.
"
Why should I believe you ah? You think I stupid meh? You say what then I believe?"
Now. Private Detective, Secret Terrorist Lee Zhi Xin shall get to the bottom of this case, investivagating till the last stone is turned, making sure that no dust remains on the surface covering the dark and dirty truth, letting innocent victims of the school's torture find out what exactly is happening in the depths of this apparance-deceiving school with numerous truths untold...
Case study #1
They go high and mighty, they sound as though they are perfect immorals, they point out all of others' flaws and mistakes no matter how small it is. Yet they have a big, larger than life flaw in themselves.
They tell you what you should do, what you should not do. They seem to know everything. Yet they are blind to the open and gaping flaw in themselves, something they are practising themselves.
Make a guess. What have we been learning in Literature? Discrimination. Almost everything is about discrimination. How Maycombian society discriminates against Negros, against people different about them. How high status people discriminate against low status people. How we shouldn't discriminate, how we should have
courage to stand up against discrimination, how Harper Lee's message is for people to do something against the discrimination instead of crying over spilt milk. So what are they pracising now? Discrimination.
This is called IRONY. They are trying to create a practical real life situation in which one can witness for herself one of the most famous literature devices used to create humour sometimes -- irony.
However, in this case it is definitely not humorous. Being people of higher status than us poor students, the teachers feel that they can do anything to us. Never mind that they used our school fees for their
staff lunches and dinners and meals instead of reaplacing the totally lousy facilities in our school, as can be seen in the constantly faultly printer and the stinky-as-hell toilets. Never mind that they want to make our lives miserable by making stupid school rules to ban something whenever they see a trend when those school rules don't even help at all (how does not calling with your handphone during recess and lunch help the school population? how does calling in the canteen and foyer ONLY help the school population?). Never mind that they EVEN BAN all the delicious stuff in the canteen such as the famous amos ordinary cookies and the Chips Ahoy Cookies. THEY EVEN SET A STUPID CORE AND MERIT SYSTEM TO STOP PEOPLE FROM GETTING THE CCAS THEY LIKE!!!
They obviously are biased. Why must the people go to uniformed, sports and
performing arts group WITH syf? So much for going about freedom of choice, freedom of interest. Now most of the CCAs are faced with a problem. Chinese Drama for example, has only 1 sec 1 this year. Pathetic isn't it? Do they want all the merit CCAs to close down? Interact, for example, is closing down RIGHT NEXT YEAR. What happened to all your crap of diverstiy of CCAs? 42 CCAs RGS has, if I am not wrong? SO many! But pretty soon the number is going to decrease until we become a laughing stock.
Are Merit CCAs not important? Are competitions and points all that matter? Even main CCAs are faced with a problem. Some of them have the exact opposite problem as us: they have
too many sec 1s and the sec1s refuse to listen to them as the cca wasn't their passion in the first place. Better results yeah? Wait long long. Perhaps for uniformed groups, but for little else. Does the school really place so much emphasis on competitions? What about doing stuff because you like them, not because of the points? Of course everyone partly have ccas because of the points. Yet if they join the CCAs out of their own free will, they will at least have some interest at it, be motivated to do something for it. What is the school fast becoming?
Case Study #2
Oh, we won't give you homework for the holidays. We have already told the teachers not to give you any homework as we know that you all have a lot of activities and want to rest.Thank you, you are oh so kind. yeah, right. No homework? I didn't know their definition of
no homework is a chinese PT (both group and individual), maths PT(both group and individual), maths assignment, maths file, a clay minature and numerous book reports. Oh, if that is so, I have
no homework for the truly pleasant holidays! I can finally take a rest! Of course, I can just do those, um, what do you call that, sheets of stuff after the holidays.... yeah, right. Please. Especially Jason Ng and his lame excuses about not giving work.
No homework indeed. What do they think we are, expecting us to do
both a group and an individual component? Please. As long as there is group work, there will of course be an unfair distribution of work. What do they want to do, cancel off grouop work completely? They should either have group work or individual work, not
both at the same time. Stupid idiots. Do they think we have nothing to do during the holidays?
Plus I have debate practices too! Do they seriously think we are machines or something? If they want machines, go buy one then. Don't come and perster us, forcing us to follow the disgusting school rules. Machines will do everything you say, and they are totally perfect. GO BUY THEM then!
Thus, through all these horrifying examples I have just shown you, you can see for yourself how hypocritical the school is.
