The world is totally chaotic
This is a new blog entry as this is on a different topic. However, please do see my clarification blog entry which is right below this entry before you get started on this. Haha...

Reading the news is an utterly depressing thing. I have realized all along that the world is in a great mess. And unlike other messes, this mess cannot be cleaned off. Let me give you the main reason why the world is in a great mess: HUMANS. They have nothing better to do, thus they start wars. Seriously. Go look at The Straits Times, you will find that there must be some mention of the USA-Iraq war or the China-Taiwan dispute everyday. I am seriously sick of seeing those reports. Even if I bother to read the newspaper(which is like a very rare thing) I would automatically skip those with any mention of those countries.

Especially the USA-Iraq war. Let's analyse the reasons that people have come up with for the reasons this war has started:
- This is because of the 911 incident. Since they dare to come attack us, we attack them!
- USA wants the oil of Iraq.

Both are stupid reasons, don't you think?
Seriously, for the first reason, even if they deserve the revenge, they should only be going after the people who are responsible for the 911 incidents. They should not go after those inncoent people who have not done anything at all. Imagine you were just sitting down there, taking care of your child and minding your own business, when suddenly you hear sounds of shots and bombs. You run out of the house in panic, shocked to discover that the serenity and peace of your home has been destroyed. Nowhere is safe anymore. You can't run anywhere. Imagine your home has been bombed. Where do you run to then? There's nowhere to run to, nowhere to settle down and take care of your child and give him or her a satisfying childhood.

Just like that, everything that you have worked for, everything you have strived for, everything that you have dreamt off, everything is shattered. Shattered like broken glass. And why have they all gone? The ironic thing is that you were not even part of the terrorist attack but yet you are helping the terrorists bear the consequences of it while Osama is sitting somewhere having a glass of ice lemonade and laughing at the USA president for his stupidity.

The second reason is even more stupid. For your own selfish desires, you harm, kill, injure numerous lives. Don't you have a conscience at all? You exchange numerous lives for a freaking sum of money and power. What is the world becoming like? Money is the root of all problems, they say. Which is completely true, but they should add another element: power. Killing one another for money is no problem. Do you realize, however, the money is stained with blood? Blood of innocent people? You don't mind the fresh blood on your hands, all you care about is the cold hard cash you have, the power of control over people.

Money and power are also the root of the problem for the China-Taiwan dispute. Why does China want Taiwan to be part of itself when it is so big already? Why hasn't China mentioned it in the past until it notices that Taiwan's economy is picking up? Firstly, Taiwan is fast becoming a threat to China's economy, thus standing in the path to China's great success. China has two options: either take the obstacle off or make the obstacle to your benefit by including it in your control. Of course they'll choose the second one as they know that countries worldwide would oppose if they suddenly declare war on Taiwan without a good reason. And they don't want that, do they?

However, there's a hitch in the plan: Taiwan refuses to become part of China. So what does China do now? Declare war, since there's ample reason to do so now. Stupid right?

Both situations, the reasons are stupid. Which leads to a conclusion: the war is stupid.

Next thing: Drugs and Cigarretes
I have absolutely no idea why people want to abuse drugs and smoke cigarretes. I have no idea why people even invented those in the first place. Money? Probably. Don't the people know that they are poisoning themselves, and the consequences are even greater than the pleasures? You might as well commit suicide if you don't value your life anymore. Then you can save one space for a useful person in the society.

Next: diseases and disasters and death
Are diseases and disasters God's way of punishing us? If they are, humans ought to realize something: against nature, we are powerless. We can invent gadgets to tell whether a disaster is coming, we can come up with all sorts of vaccines and medicinesa but we can never stop them from occuring. And we can never come up with a cure for all the diseases as the virus just keeps on evolving. Isn't it ironic that humans, who self proclaim that they are the cleverest, died the most during the recent tsunami? Isn't it ironic that such a small tiny little microscopic virus or bacteria can cause millions of people to die? People who are so many times larger than them?

And if diseases and disasters aren't God's wreath, then where is God when we needed him? Isn't he supposed to protect us? What's all the prayers for then? Why did he let the tsunami come and take hundreds of thousands of lives? Isn't he supposed to be merciful and forgiving? Is there even a God? These questions, sadly, cannot be solved with confirmed-true answers.

Next: Pollution
Why are us human beings destroying the very place that we are living in? Aren't we speeding up the process of our extinction?

And the list goes on. The world is still as chaotic as ever. Prejudice and Discrimination. Crimes. Punishments. Abusing one's rights. Makes me wonder why I am still living when there are so many causes to death. Makes me wonder what the world is coming to. Makes me feel so insignificant, as however much I do, if I even do anything at all, it won't stop the problems.

Life is a violent storm of problems. And yet there are good things as well, good things such as love and happiness. however, do the good things neutralize the bad ones?
